By Robert Gagliardi LARAMIE - Injuries, poor shooting, inconsistent play and players leaving the team. Those things have been the themes of the season so far for the University of Wyoming men's basketball team. The Cowboys start the second half of conference play at 7 tonight at Border War rival Colorado State. UW is 0-6 on the road, and five of its final eight regular- season games are on the road. It's not like the Arena-Auditorium has been a huge home-court advantage this season as the Cowboys are 8-7 and coming off their worst loss there since it opened in 1982, a 78-50 loss to UNLV Wednesday. "It sucks losing like that, especially at home," UW senior forward Ryan Dermody said. "We've got the second half of the (conference) schedule left. We've got two choices: we can either lie down or come out fighting and start winning links of london charms some of these games. "If we don't come out and play hard, we're going to get embarrassed. We don't want to do that anymore." UW lost its second player in the middle of the season when sophomore guard A.J. Davis left the team this week. Junior-college transfer Thomas Manzano left after just eight games back in December. Home wins over San Diego State and Utah are proof UW is capable of playing well, but the loss to UNLV also is proof of See Cowboys, page B2 Continued from B1 this team's shortfalls. And fans are reacting. UW averages 4,861 fans per home game. That figure is on pace to be the lowest average in A-A history. Insult to injury Any team would be hard-pressed to have a lot of success if it lost its leading scorer to a season-ending injury. That happened to UW when sophomore forward Afam Muojeke ruptured the patellar tendon in his left knee at Brigham Young on Jan. 20. The Cowboys are 1-3 since then and were 8-10 prior to Muojeke's injury. Then the team's heart and soul, sophomore center and Cody product Adam Waddell, suffered a sprained left ankle during the 75-69 home win over Utah. He missed the Air Force game a few days later, and UW lost to the last-place Falcons 70-63 to snap the Falcons' 22-game regular- season conference losing streak. Waddell had surgery on his right knee after suffering an injury in practice. He missed UW's regular-season opener, which it also lost. UW is 0-2 without Waddell. Without Muojeke in the lineup, Waddell is UW's leading scorer (10.5 ppg) and rebounder (6.2 rpg). Sophomore point guard JayDee Luster (shoulder and ankle) and sophomore center Boubacar Sylla (foot) also have been hampered by injuries. Luster has missed only one game and Sylla none. But their play at times, especially Sylla, have been greatly affected by their ailments. UW will have only seven scholarship players at full health tonight against CSU. Shooting struggles UW is in the top half of the conference in scoring (75.4 ppg) and shooting percentage (44.2 percent). But that goes largely unnoticed due to its poor perimeter shooting and recent struggles at the free-throw Other articles: http://www.khgd.net/Blog/View/?4256http://www.hdsqw.com/Death-stirs-memories-of-shops.htmlhttp://www.bhraja.co.ba/blog.php?user=mywatches&blogentry_id=1544

By Ira Podell The Associated Press VANCOUVER, B.C. So much for a lack of Olympic experience. After a workmanlike win over Switzerland in the opener, the U.S. men's hockey team is suddenly loaded with it. SO is Steve Bruce the new Lawrie Mackemenemy? A Geordie not-so- secret agent dispatched to bring down the old enemy from within? Sorry, but that explanation - whether offered up by Wearside conspiracy theorists or Magpie mischief-makers - is the most obvious red herring since the spy with the comedy German accent in Blackadder Goes Forth. Surely far closer replica hublot watches to the truth is that Bruce's rebuilding job is a work in progress being undermined by bad luck and men he wrongly thought would provide him with a solid foundation. In other words, it's time certain Sunderland players - particularly given Lee Cattermole's costly injury jinx - carried their weight. replica tag heruer watches Players like Kenwyne Jo n e s. So what if Liverpool wanted him during January? Jones should be more than happy to play for a club where his status has grown out of proportion with his actual performances. John Terry is rightly crucified for having it good and wanting better, so why should Jones be excused if he is still dreaming of Anfield? And would that he was the only man in red and white stripes needing to get over himself. Steed Malbranque was born in an area torn apart by World War I, but you wouldn't want him alongside you in the t r e n Clip on charms c h e s. Similar goes for Kieran Richardson. Others - others who were NOT brought to the club by Bruce - are simply not good enough, but have been used out of unfortunate necessity. Byline: LEE RYDER Replica Marc Jacobs Handbags NEWCASTLE VIPERS were today facing up to the fact they are in a battle to avoid the ignominy of finishing the season as the worst side in the Elite League. On Valentine's weekend, the only injuries sustained from the Vipers' doubleheaded weekend with Edinburgh Captials were broken hearts after they twice capitulated. Rob Wilson's men now face a battle with Hull Stingrays to ensure they do not end the season with the wooden spoon. Bristol's victory over Doncaster on Wednesday evening - their 13th straight league win - should have been followed by Jason Spice and Roy Winters collecting a trophy and parading it around the classic tall ugg boots Memorial Stadium. Victory over Doncaster not only ensured Bristol have now beaten every side in the Championship at least once this season, it also gave them an unassailable lead at the top of the table. With one match to play, Bristol lead Exeter by seven points. Paul Hull's men have claimed more try-scoring bonus points (13) than anyone else in the division; they have conceded fewer points (307) than anyone else; they have won more games (19); they have the greatest points difference (298); they have the biggest crowds; they have the best team. Just about every statistic - plus every subjective opinion based on the evidence provided over the previous 21 weeks - suggests Bristol deserve to be promoted to the Guinness Premiership. Not in three months and after a further nine play-off games - but now. Yet there is still the possibility they could be denied promotion to the top flight by the team currently in tenth position in the Championship. Because victory for Rotherham on the final day of the Bedat & CO Watch regular season could catapult them into eighth place and therefore a shot at the play-offs. If it wasn't so ridiculous, it would probably be quite funny. In any other season, Bristol's chairman Chris Booy, chief executive Steve Gorvett and head coach Paul Hull would have been shaking off their hangovers yesterday morning to begin the serious business of signing players for next season. Instead, they will not know until May 26 whether or not they will be playing in the Premiership in 2010-11. And how is a promoted club expected to survive in the Premiership if they are only given a window of a Technomarine Watch few weeks in which to recruit new players? The situation is a farce. It is not just a farce for Bristol but for those clubs in seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions in the Championship. Fake Piaget Doncaster, Plymouth Albion, Moseley and Rotherham Titans are all still in contention to reach the promotion play-offs (and therefore the Premiership), yet at the same time they could end up being relegated - even though Birmingham and Solihull are 21 points adrift at the bottom on minus 9 points. The idea of shoving the top eight teams into a promotion play- off and the bottom four into a relegation play-off was designed to keep the league competitive until the end of the season. Yet it completely disrespects the achievements of certain teams over the course of a regular season. Bristol sit 32 points ahead of third-placed London Welsh with one game to play, yet their reward is merely top seeding in the pool stage of the play-offs. There is no trophy or even a pat on the back for finishing top of the pile after a full league season, merely a slightly easier play- off pool. Even then, Bristol Swiss Replica will still, in all probability, have to win five of their six pool matches in order to book a home semi-final - a one-off game where an injury, sin-binning or bounce of the ball could see their campaign ended by a side who finished the best part of 40 points below them Other articles: http://www.greatpinoy.com/blog/view/id_1703/title_concert-boosts-society-s-funds/http://www.chinaylh.com/Blog/View/?290http://www.chinainterchange.net/bbs/Blog.asp?BlogUserName=mywatche&menu=ShowBlog&BlogID=774http://www.virtense.com/st-LdWritethru-First-Mr-Gay.htmlhttp://promogogo.com/index.php/public/blog/view/id_790/

A THUG was told he was "far too handy" with his fists as he was jailed for a vicious attack on pub customers. Kevin Machin hit a woman on the chin and then fractured her husband's skull when he tried to intervene. In a separate attack while on bail, he hit another man - sending him to the floor, where he hit his head with a "sickening thud". Judge Michael Stokes QC told 32-year-old Machin he would go to prison for three years and nine months. He said: "You have two very real problems. One, you drink too much and, secondly, you are far too handy with your fists." Machin, of High Hazles Drive, Huthwaite, pleaded guilty to grievous replica tag heruer watches bodily harm on the two men and common assault on the woman. Nottingham Crown Court heard he attacked the couple after they went outside for a cigarette at The Oxford pub, Highbury Vale, Bulwell, on Thursday, May 21 last year. The victim recalled only that he was drinking at a pub in Sherwood. Witnesses described the pair as "squaring up" before the victim smiled; in response, Machin punched him on the side of his face. "He hit his head on the tiled floor with what was described as a 'sickening thud'," said Ian Way, prosecuting. Clip on charms He had blood coming from his ears, which was pooling behind his head. He spent two days under observation in hospital because he was found to have fractured two bones at the base of his head. "The problem for Mr Machin is drink," said Michael Evans, in mitigation. "In his youth he was addicted to drugs. Between 2003 and 2005 he managed to neither take drugs or drink. There is mention of a tragedy that happened which led him back to alcohol." Machin has previous convictions for common assault, robbery, wounding with intent, criminal damage and possession of a flick knife. He has recently been attending Alcoholics Anonymous. A GLASGOW pub that has lain empty for six months is to be given a new lease of life with the opening of a music bar. The Wise Monkey will open its doors tonight, with a performance by resident band The Meat Men, who are already favourites on the Glasgow music scene. Hubbards, in Great Western Road, was a Glasgow institution until it closed last August. The pub is beneath The Viper nightclub - better known as Cleopatras, or Clatty Pat's. Local residents were left wondering what would become of the old pub, until new signs went up a few weeks ago advertising the opening of The Wise Monkey, which will be a hip music bar by night and a family-friendly, community- centred hang-out by day. replica tag heruer watches With its slogan 'hear no evil', The Wise Monkey will feature resident bands - a deliberately old-fashioned move in the age of iPods - and will serve food and a selection of beers. replica breitling watches The wooden interior of Hubbards will be left intact, meaning the spirit of the old pub will survive. Wise Monkey manager Graham Sutherland, 35, said: "We looked at the area and asked: what does the community need? It certainly doesn't need another big style bar, so we decided to keep the interior of Hubbards, making it nice and cosy, but bring in top bands and DJs to give it more life. "We also want local people to come in during the day." As well as music, community is key to the Wise Monkey. Mr Sutherland added: "We have a family licence so people can bring their children in during the day." He has a long history in Glasgow pubs. He opened El Sabor in the Merchant City, which was one of the first tenants in the redeveloped Merchant Square. Thomas sabo charms Mr Sutherland then worked for Punch Taverns, before being laid off. Undeterred, he set about opening his own pub, seeing the recession as an opportunity, not a disaster. He said: "We saw this great pub in this great location and persuaded the landlord we were the people to run it." jasper.hamill@ heraldandtimes.co.uk Other articles: http://www.zbsheying.com/bbs/Blog.asp?BlogUserName=mywatche&menu=ShowBlog&BlogID=514http://www.monwebblog.com/blog.php?user=mywatches¬e=131http://www.blogsxxx.net/blog.php?user=mywatches¬e=3325

Peter Paul Goimarac Sr. will always be remembered as one of the best football players in Charleroi High School's storied sports history. But those who knew him better than anyone else -- as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather -- will tell you there was much more to the man, qualities that transcended his athletic achievements. "Pete was a very unselfish man, full of surprises and so full of presence," Carol Reid Goimarac, his wife of 37 years, said. "He always made us feel loved and appreciated." Goimarac, who died in 2002 Clip on charms at his home in Palm Coast, Fla., is one of seven men who comprise the Class of 2010 that will be honored June 18 at the 17th annual Mid Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame banquet. The event, which traces its genesis to 1951, will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Willow Room in Rostraver Township. "He would have been modestly proud," Carol Goimarac said. "Pete didn't expect recognition or accolades for his achievements, but I think he was always pleased and appreciative when someone noticed." Goimarac is only the second member of Charleroi High's unbeaten 1959 football team that won the WPIAL Class AA championship to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. "The honor is well deserved," said Gary Hogan, quarterback of the 1959 Cougars. "Pete was one of the toughest blockers, linemen, linebackers I ever played with or against, and there were many including Dick Butkus at Illinois." Hogan was the starting quarterback at Purdue University when he faced Butkus. He was the first of the 1959 crew to enter the Hall of Fame when he was inducted in 2008. He lives in South Easton, Mass. Dallas Cosgrove of Carroll Township, a starting guard on the CHS team that defeated Aliquippa 13-12 on Dec. 5, 1959, before 13,764 fans at Pitt Stadium to cap an 11-0-0 season with the WPIAL championship, offered similar sentiments. "Pete was one of the toughest men I've ever known," Cosgrove said. "He was big and strong and would have played any position the coaches asked him to play. He had a unique character about him, quiet at times but all business on the field. I'm sure he would have loved to be at the (Hall of Fame) ceremonies telling stories as only he could do and making everyone smile and laugh. He was a great athlete but, more importantly, he was a good friend." Goimarac and Cougars teammate Mickey Bitsko initially accepted scholarships to the University of Notre Dame but had a change of heart. While Bitsko opted for the University of Dayton, Goimarac enrolled at West Virginia University, where he enhanced his football legacy. TONY'S TIPS Everton 0.5 on Asian handicap 3pts 2.06 Ladbrokes Bolton 2pts 13-10 general Chelsea 2pts 5-6 general Asian handicaps explained, page 105 DERBY weekend kicks off with Liverpool against Everton and more evidence that the balance of power is shifting on Merseyside. A couple of months ago you'd have lumped on Liverpool beating David Moyes's men, who were in disarray. Now, though, it's all turned full circle and I'd want to be laying Rafa's Reds. Everton at odds-against with a half-goal start on the Asians will do me fine. Liverpool have kept four clean sheets in their last six in the league which is the record of a side scrapping for everything. But in Everton they are coming up against the master scrappers and the Toffees are flying. Clip on charms Thirteen points out of 15 - the only dropped points came in a 2-2 draw at Arsenal - confirms the revival that Moyes was forecasting once he got some players back from injury. Marouane Fellaini is playing as well as ever, Landon Donovan is a classy loan signing, Phil Neville's return beefs everything up and even Philippe Senderos slotted seamlessly into the back four in last week's 1-0 win at Wigan. Remember, the Swiss defender has a World Cup pedigree and just because he'd fallen out of love with Arsenal doesn't mean he can't mature into a top defender. He's got all the attributes. The fact that he won't have Fernando Torres to mark is a bonus and Liverpool are still without Yossi Benayoun, their one really creative replica breitling watches gem. I think Everton will attempt to stifle the life out of Liverpool, stay organised in the middle, cramp Steven Gerrard and be a massive threat at set-plays. I can see a tight, low-scoring, hostile encounter. The stakes are massive for both clubs. It's too early to have formed a firm opinion on Bolton under Owen Coyle. It isn't as though he's had the easiest of baptisms - three of his first five matches in charge have been against Arsenal and Liverpool. They were all lost but, crucially, the two winnable matches against Sheffield United and Burnley at home were both won, and it's matches like Burnley at home that will define their season. They've another of those fixtures today when Fulham visit the Reebok Stadium and I'm convinced Coyle's men can chalk up another priceless home win to inch themselves further away from the drop zone. It's hard to put your finger on why Fulham are such rotten travellers, but they just can't cut it away from the Cottage. They do get outbattled in some games - though that doesn't explain such tepid efforts as the one they produced at Spurs recently - and Bolton will give them a real battle. Coyle's mentality is less bluecollar than his predecessor, Gary Megson, but you've got to work with the tools at your disposal and the likes of Kevin Davies, Gary Cahill, Fabrice Muamba and Johan Elmander are big, strong presences who will put themselves about. And there's a lightweight streak to Fulham that is there to be exposed. Get on Bolton. I've also got to have Chelsea against Arsenal. You can't expect Arsenal to be as bad again as they were against Manchester United, but you can expect Chelsea to approach the task in the same way as Fergie's men did. And if they do that, Arsenal surely will buckle.
